I was born in Ashland, Kentucky and grew up in Grayson, Kentucky home of Kentucky Christian University. I attended Eastern Kentucky University and graduated in 1993 with a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Technology Specializing in Printing Technology with an Associates Degree in Business. While in college I realized how much I missed teaching Sunday school class and I decided to return to EKU to earn a teaching degree in 1995.

I started my teaching career in 1995 at Shelby East Middle School were I taught Technology Education for 15 years. My program was named Middle School Technology Program of the year in 2001 by the Kentucky Applied Technology Education Associaton (KATEA). I was named Middle School Technology Education Teacher of the year by KATEA in 2005. I earned my National Boards Certification in the field of Career and Technical Education in 2002 and recertified again in 2012. In 2002 I completed my Master Degree at EKU in K-12 School Leadership. I worked for Shelby County Public School from 2010-2012 as the District Technology Integration Specialist.

In 2013 I was employeed by Eminence School District as the Middle and High School Computer Applications Teacher. Love the 1:1!!! This year I sponsored Middle and High School STLP, Middle and High School Academic Team, Robotics Teams, and I have started a Technology Student Association Chapter. Students and staff are wonderful at EIS. I love it here so much that I have brought my son who is in Mrs. Uptons Class and next year my youngest son will start Kindergarten. I will finish an Instructional Technology Endorsement from Georgetown College this Summer.

I love learning and I love watching what our students are able to do!
