My name is Mrs. Montgomery and there are a few things you should know about me. I graduated from Asbury college with a B.A. in English and from the University of Kentucky with a M.A. in Secondary Education. This will be my 11th year teaching. I used to tease my husband, who grew up in Eminence, because he would say that Eminence was the greatest place in the whole world. After having worked and lived here now for the last 10 years, I have to say that I agree with him. I love Eminence!!

I also love to read and write, especially poetry, and  C. S. Lewis is my favorite author. I have a whole bookshelf of C.S. Lewis  books in my home (he wrote The Chronicles of Narnia), and I even a picture of him in my office at home. I also love J.R.R. Tolkein, a good friend of C.S. Lewis. My favorite course in college, was, yes, C. S. Lewis and Friends. I am a little obsessed.

Besides C.S. Lewis, you'll hear me talk a lot about my family. I have two children. My daughter is in 4th grade this year and my son is in preschool. My husband, Larry, is a technology assistant here at school. Our family loves to travel! We spent 6 weeks of our summer in Guatemala taking spanish classes - it was so much fun (but a lot of work too!). I have also been to Nicaragua, Mexico, Venezuela, and Peru. My favorite thing about traveling is seeing the smiles on the faces of children in the poorest living conditions you can imagine. In the midst of utter despair, the hearts of children are still full of hope. That gives me reason to hope and believe that anything is possible!

I look forward to getting to know all of my students and parents this year and I hope you will not hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns.
