EMINENCE HIGH SCHOOL |
The mission of Eminence High School is to develop world class students in all aspects of life through the cooperation of students, staff, parents and community members.
Though small in size, EHS strives to meet the criteria necessary to offer students an excellent, well-rounded education. Not only does it offer a wide array of academic opportunities, it also offers a wide array of extracurricular activities.
In addition to core classes, EHS offers Advanced Placement courses in Psychology, English, and U.S. History. Dual credit courses are offered through Jefferson Community College and vocational programs are offered through Shelby County Area Technical School. Students may also participate in School-To-Work programs with local businesses. In 2000, EHS began honoring high achieving students with the opportunity to earn a Certificate of Initial Mastery (CIM) in addition to the regular high school diploma.
The extracurricular opportunities available to Eminence students are not surpassed by many larger schools. Students may participate in chorus, band, drama, student government, academic and non-academic clubs, and a full sports program consisting of football, volleyball, cross country, cheerleading, basketball, baseball and softball.
